Turning Signal, an upstart center-wing anti-most things, was planning to compete with Turning Point. The competition is to pry eyes away from the Latino, Spanish-speaking Bad Bunny, performing at the Super Bowl. Turning Signal planned to play reruns of the Lawrence Welk show.
Turning Point organizers insist that Lawrence Welk, who was born and raised in Strasburg, North Dakota, and is of powerful stock – German-Russian ancestry. His accordion-playing sidekick,
Myron Floren, from South Dakota and of solid Norwegian heritage. Adding Bobby Burgess Cherokee, Scottish, Irish, and German background, just one quarter Native, polls well. His dancing partner, Cissy King, born in Colorado and of American heritage, will impress American alternate Super Bowl halftime fans when compared to the Turning Point.
The Turning Point line-up of entertainers is made up of Robert James Ritchie (Stage name “Kid Rock” but many say he should change it to “Old Man Rock” – see photo). He is English, Irish, and German, but is from Michigan rather than the heartland. Also playing at the Turning Point halftime is Brantley Gilbert, who is of English descent, with some Irish ancestry, Lee Brice, whose ancestry appears to be hard to find – perhaps hidden??? And finally, Gabby Barrett, whose lineage is all over the place, including Slovak, Irish, English, German, and Polish. Guess Gabby’s people like to sleep around a. Never know WHAT we’re gonna get with that.
It was sure to be an exciting half-time competition between the two options to the main Super Bowl Latino, Spanish-speaking premier Super Bowl halftime show. Sadly, not a lot of people turned in to see Kid Rocks lip sink and Turning Signal was not able to get the rights to rerun The Lawrence Welk Show. They could not figure out who to contact for permissions.
